Beef Forage Field Day set for March 13th In headland

Producers, industry professionals, and anyone interested in beef cattle and forage production are invited to attend the 2026 Beef Forage Field Day at the Wiregrass Research and Extension Center on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Each year, this field day provides an opportunity to showcase the latest research and demonstrations taking place at the Wiregrass REC. Attendees will learn about current work involving beef cattle management, forage crops, variety testing, and field trials, and how these findings can benefit producers across the region.

The event will begin with registration at 8:00 a.m., followed by a welcome at 8:30 a.m. The field tour will depart at 9:00 a.m., where participants will hear directly from researchers and specialists about the projects and trials being conducted at the station. A sponsored lunch will be provided to all field day attendees following the tour.

In the afternoon, participants will also have the opportunity to attend a Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Training and Certification Program from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. This session will provide valuable training for producers interested in maintaining high standards of cattle care and beef quality.

Extension personnel are encouraged to help share this information with producers and community members who may benefit from attending.
